Because festival weekend brings larger crowds, street closures, and increased traffic downtown, we recommend arriving early and following posted signs or event-day directions.

Some downtown streets may be closed or adjusted during festival weekend for the safety of attendees, vendors, parade participants, and event activities. Please follow posted signage, police direction, and festival updates when arriving.
Coming from North of Smithville
If you’re traveling from the north, head south toward Smithville using 169 Highway or your preferred local route. Once you reach Smithville, continue toward Downtown and watch for posted festival parking, road closure, and pedestrian traffic information.
Coming from South of Smithville
If you’re traveling from the Kansas City area or south of Smithville, take your preferred route north toward Smithville. Most visitors will come into town using 169 Highway or nearby connecting roads. Follow 169 toward Downtown Smithville and allow extra time once you reach town, as festival traffic and parking may be heavier than usual.
